Tending to Change
embracing the mayhem
May is often a very full month and serves as the unofficial transition between spring and summer (particularly for those impacted by school rhythms). Whether or not your schedule changes with the season, the longer stretches of daylight and warmer temperatures bring different demands and opportunities.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens…
I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. God has made everything beautiful in its time. God has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it.
Ecclesiastes 3:1, 9, 11-14
Take a few moments to reflect and reset.
What have you appreciated about the spring?
Where have you noticed or experienced God in the past month?
In what circumstances or situation do you need God’s intervention or clarity?
As you enter into May, what two or three things do you want to prioritize over the next four weeks?
How do you want to feel at the end of the month, as you move to the opportunities, demands and rhythms of summer?
Blessing for May
May you delight in the gift of sunshine and new growth,
blooms and blossom, greening and growth
And, in so doing,
may you notice transformation in your own life
embracing what is as it is,
with trust and patience in the unfolding and growing;
staying hopeful in what is possible,
and alert to what is emerging.

Thank you for this gracious May blessings! Just what I needed today.
